Driving + ferry
I-95 to Hyannis, ferry check-in, then the crossing. Longer on a summer Saturday.
The flight is about one hour and fifteen minutes, airport to airport. You lift off from Lakewood, run up the coast, and descend over the moors into Nantucket Memorial (ACK), three miles from town and ten minutes by cab from lunch. Leave New Jersey at nine, be on a beach before noon, and still make dinner back home. That day trip does not exist by road.
Worth knowing before you book
- Pack soft. Two to three adults with soft weekend bags is the comfortable load. Beach gear packs down well. Tell us about anything bulky and we will confirm it fits.
- Summer slots go early. July and August weekends are popular. Book the week, not the night before.
- Fog happens. Nantucket gets gray mornings, and a piston single will not force its way in. We watch it early, time departures around it, and refund in full if the weather wins. Our weather policy.
